Here We Are!

We want to thank everyone and efurryone for your kind thoughts on Mommy's loss. The brother that passed was the sibling she was most close to and shared a lot of interests with. She was not able to attend any funeral or memorial because of no green papers and he lived in another state. She has been very sad, but has spent part of our time away from you all remembering all the good things about having such a good brother.
The other thing she has been spending time with is insurants again. Her new medicine insurants. They have given her several quotes on her insulin that were pretty outrageous. They seemed to change with each person she talked to! So as of tomorrow she has a new new medicine insurants which is most reasonable. We hope. In the mean time, she has ordered about a week's supply of insulin through her old plan (because a month's worth was so expensive). She was getting very anxious about it. Her insulin was delivered yesterday, and she really needed it this morning!
Other green paper stuff: she has been trying to purchase a new walker because she has been getting a little more unstable, and a helpful place has promised to help her pay for one, but she has been waiting almost a month for them, and she's pretty upset about that. Waiting is not something she does well. It's a brand new walker and medicare is helping pay for it, too. Just a little bit more and it will be paid for. Can anyone help?
Mommy has several medical-related stuff she needs that she can't afford. One is her share of her last hospital stay. Others involve new glasses, dental work, etc. Would a gofundme page help? Insurants doesn't pay for some stuff for her. Who actually contributes to a gofundme? If she did have one, and she got the green papers she needed, anything left over would be put in a special place for me if I get sick and we would give anything left to our favorite place, Feline Rescue of St. Paul. That's where I found Mommy, ya know. I think that I should share my PayPal account but it won't cover Mommy's stuff.. So what shall we do? I'm sure in the future there will be a wheelchair, too. Those are lots and lots of green papers!
This week the building has given every partment a recycling bin, and they are going to "pick up" twice a week. Pretty cool.  Mommy likes recycling cause it's good for the earth. I thought it was a little noisy when they "picked up" on Monday.
Time out, as they say, for something important for me:
I'm making Mommy stop writing this for me and give me a nice Furminator and massage time!
*******ooooo*******purrrrrrrrrrrr*******
ZZZZZZZZZwhat? Oh, of course.
I'm back!
We have not been reading blogs for the last week or so, and we have piles of catching up to do. We haven't forgotten you, and we hope you haven't forgotten us! We have piles and oodles of blogs to catch up on.
But never forget we continue to purray and pray, send good thoughts, and think of you all.
Happy Tuxie Tuesday!(of course!!)
Love ya,
(and we mean that sincerely! And not just the tuxies! And we don't ever forget the woofies either!))

Now Mommy, back to the massage!

The Sads

We again apologize for being away from our computer. Mommy has been busy, and now there has been a death in the family. One of Mommy's brothers passed away last night.
I don't think Mommy can go to the funeral or anything. We just don't have the green papers for her to travel anywhere.  Mommy's brother lived in Iowa and they talked on the phone frequently. His oldest daughter was born on Mommy's birthday when she was 16,  so he did call Mommy on her birthday (easy to remember both birthdays) but was not able to stay on the phone beyond his birthday greeting to Mommy. Mommy was quite concerned. Last night his heart stopped twice, and the second time they were unable to get it started again. He had lung cancer. He was 70.
Pardon us for taking some more time away from here. Mommy needs to grieve, and I need to stay close.
love ya,
QUINN Makayla
ps. Mommy wanted you all to know her brother loved baseball, history, and was a veteran. He was her biggest supporter in the family.

Finally Friday

We would like to thank everyone who left birthday wishes on Mommy's Face Book timeline, first of all. We also would like to thank that special Elf who sent a special birthday card and the special lady who sent money to our PayPal account.
Yesterday we spent quietly at home: Mommy made an awesome breakfast (scrambled eggs, sausage, cheese, potatoes) and she brought out of the freezer a pizza for dinner and we watched a neat movie (a kung fu fantasy would you believe??) and so that was it. I got to taste some of the breakfast, but I am not crazy about peperoni pizza. She heard from two of her siblings, although one is very very ill and didn't talk very long. It was also 62 degrees here! Sometimes, she said, Minnesnowta has snow and ice storms on her birthday, so yesterday's pleasant but windy day was kind of Minnesota Awesome!
I cuddled. Well, actually I got an awesome Furminator time and an awesome massage, but Mommy loves these activities as well as I do, so that counts as part of her birthday present. I also let her kissie on me--a lot--ew!
Live easy this weekend!
love ya,
QUINN

Easy Sunday

Sunday funny for you! Well, it is funny for your humans. It is very true for us kitties!
They say all the snow will be gone in a few days. We'll definitely see about that! It is above freezing anyway, and Mommy opened two windows this morning!  Wonderful window whiffies!
Now, Mommy doesn't qualify for state or county aid, has to rely on her Medicare and her insurants for the most part, and that makes it hard for us sometimes. She is trying to get a walker through a local social services group (our friend Barb is helping us look), and that might work out, but Mommy has made calls all over the metro area! Other seniors and disableds qualify for a lot more help than we get.  Actually, they qualify for help, period, and Mommy doesn't seem to.  Which is sad, because she used to work FOR the county. We have a big insulin bill coming up and Mommy says life gets a little scary around here sometimes.
Anyway, she goes to the clinic tomorrow, so she will be gone most of the day. And we have a Chewy delivery coming soon! Now before anyone says anything about getting my foodies cheaper, STOP! Most of you know the quality of Chewy's stuff, and Mommy will not compromise on my health with cheap food and painful litter (yes, someone declawed me when I was little, so I get Cat Attract, which is more comfy for my toesies), and Chewy's prices are reasonable and they deliver right to our door. We don't have a car. And Mommy can't carry heavy stuff. So there!  I get Chicken Soup canned stuff and Purina Beyond salmon and rice crunchies!
We hope to hear from the peoples who maybe can help Mommy very very soon. We've tried lots of places and churches and everything. Cross your paws, please!! This is sort of a last resort.
Now, Thursday is Mommy's birthday. She would really like to go somewhere nice to eat, or just order in, but that isn't possible right now. She is still worried about that insulin she has to pay for. So I told her just to make something nice and we will maybe cuddle. I am not much of a lap cat so I would rather just sit close by and that I can do. As long as she pets me.
Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend, and survived turning the clocks ahead last night. Silly peoples make life interesting, don't they! Have an Easy!

love ya,
QUINN

Finally Friday

Wanted to give everyone an update. It has been a busy week, now that Mommy feels better. At last I can take my nappies seriously! She has of course pampered me in gratitude for all the hard work nursing I did!
Yesterday she left me. Barb came and picked her up, but she didn't come in to pet me! Not fair! I like Barb's scritchies!
They went out to track down information on a walker. Now around here Walker is a senior home in south Minneapolis Or an art place. Or one of those rolly things that peoples use to steady themselves. Since I do not want to move or look at art, I vote for the rolly thing. After all, Mommy has fallen quite enough!  She said they are kinda expensive, and Medicare and insurants don't pay a lot for them. So it is up to the people themselves.
Now, Mommy thinks this is a crappy way to treat seniors. She thinks Medicare and insurants should cover things like that when doctors write down that they are needed. But then, they won't help her pay much for her insulin or allow her money for foodies and doctor bills. She has a whopping one from when she was in the hospital for 2 days! Her share of the bill is over 500 green papers! No one helps pay much if at all for glasses, toofies, incontinence supplies and hearing aids, either! Not fair, she says. And I agree. We live in a senior building and there are lots of peoples here who need stuff like that! You know that commercial that says something about "do we pay for food or our medicines" is kinda true for lots of peoples. Peoples should care for other peoples better. Especially when they get all old and stuff! Just wait till you have to care for YOUR peoples cause they are old! Peoples are sure dumb sometimes about each other. It is a good thing we have mommies and daddies who take care of us! And we need more mommies and daddies and less shelters!
Okay, enough of the serious stuff. Whew! I'm getting exhausted!
Don't tell anyone, but Mommy's birthday is next week. I'm going to be sure to give her extra purrs cause that's all I can afford. I don't get a real allowance. But she'll like my gift, I know!
It is supposed to get warmer here. It hasn't snowed much this winter, but it sure has been cold! I am glad I live in a nice warm home!
Now, back to my nappiezzzzzzzz
