Sadness

We have lost the apartment.

The monies we had received from the auction and other contributions were to help with the deposit and the first month's rent. They will still pay for this month's rent, if the landlord allows us to stay another month, and for (hopefully) a deposit on a new place next month. Mama hopes to be working temps shortly, so she will be getting an income at last, and after 40 hours of work, will be covered by insurance, also. Cross your paws that this will work.

He wants us to clean the apartment, but will not allow us to stay longer than a month. Sorry for the misconstrued information. We didn't think it was fair to clean a place he was going to completely gut and remodel. But if he lets us stay another month, we will. We don't feel safe here, but we are not going anywhere for the next month. It will give us more time to sort through stuff and pack. During the next months he will be replacing pipes in the ceilings of all the apartments, and that mess we want to not be here for. It would be way too scary and noisy, for one, and too dusty to live with. He has always not liked kitties, but merely tolerates us. Any excuse is a good one to get rid of catowners. Our time had come.

Mama misunderstood someone to say that there would be help with moving. If that was not the case, we are sorry. That is what we heard, and we were grateful. We did not mean to be greedy, or demanding, just appreciative and grateful. We will try to come up with something ourselves.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us in the past. We have made it this far with the help of our good friends on the cat blogosphere. Maybe it was too much to ask someone to help us with the apartment, but thank you all for trying and offering suggestions. We may call a cleaning service when we are packed up, just so the landlord will be happy. But hopefully we will not need one.

Mama says thank you to you all, and so do I. You have all helped us through a really bad place in our lives. We are sorry if you all think it's too much. It has made a real difference in our lives. We caught up on our rent, and the utilities, and were able to survive that much longer here. And the emotional support and purrayers have made a HUGE difference.

We are sorry if we offended anyone. Our hearts were just grateful for the kind thoughts and the financial assistance, no matter how small it was.

With love and gratitude,
brandi and Carol

ps. Yesterday was the 1st anniversary of our blog. Thank you everyone.

Help!

We are running out of time. We need someone to sign for us and fax the information to the rental place immediately. If you see this and you can help and it is not very much after 1 pm and you have a fax machine, let us know immediately! Our cosigner renigged at the last minute.
brandi

ps
If you can help, maybe it's not too late. I need someone to cosign for me immediately. Just verify that the rent will be paid. And fax it to the rental place. That's all. Mama is devistated that this could happen to us. I think we lost it, though. But we can try.

UPDATE: We found someone to send them a statement saying my rent wll be covered, and my approximate income, etc. So, maybe it's on again. This is really hard on mama. Do we have help moving? We are so wanting out of this place!!

The latest news

Well, the owner is not giving us a reference, so they are doubling the deposit on the new apartment, and asking the co-signers for a faxed statement. We are supposed to be out of here on the 28th, but can't get into the new place till the 1st. But it will be painted, the carpet cleaned, and new blinds put up, so it's worth it. Cross your fingers!

And mama did another temp agency Friday. After the background check, she might just get a temp job. They said with her skills they could put her almost anywhere! Woo-Hoo!

As to other things, it is snowy out, like we haven't had all winter. Snow, snow, snow! Like Christmas! It better clear up soon, or we will be snowed in.

Snuggly weather!

Love, headbumpies and purrs,

Hello Again

Mama talked to the owner here today. He is the holdup for the new apartment. He won't even verify that we live here, much less give a reference. Now he says maybe we should stay for another month and clean the apartment up. NO! We want out of here! Nasty man!

No jobs, either. Mama is going to go to a temp place tomorrow. She doesn't like it. They haven't promised her anything, even benefits. So, maybe it won't work. But she's trying.

That's all the news. We are very upset.

Love,

No news

Well, no jobbies, and we haven't heard anything about the partment, either. The landlord came over today, so mama left. She brought a book to the coffeeshop (a nice walk, about a half mile) and read for a while and then went to the grocery store for a few things. She said, if we get the partment, the bus stop home would be right across the street from the store! It's not that far now, she said, just a block, but still, that would be nice. There is a shelter across from the store, too, in case of bad weather. She decided that if the weather gets bad this weekend (they are saying snow), she won't have to worry about carrying groceries home. And she didn't get much, just stuff like milk and juice and bread and stuff. Just enough to carry home on the bus.

Mama has an interview Friday at a temp place. Another temp place. The first one didn't help her at all. She never has any luck with them, but she's going to try again.

Oh, and the coffee shop? It's a half a mile or so from the new place if we get it, only in the opposite direction. So still a nice walk for mama.

That's it for now. We hope the partment calls soon!

Love, headbumpies and purrs and smoochies to my sweetie, who sent me a hug card! Thank you sweetie!

Hello Again

Mama wasn't able to get me on blogger yesterday. Sorry, everyone. We don't know if we got the apartment or not. They are still doing a background check. Mama doesn't have a jobbie, yet, either. And the temp to hire place does not return emails or anything. Phooey!

Mama is really scared and overwhelmed. I am doing my best to help. We have to be out of this place by next Wednesday!

Thats the news.

Sunday afternoon

Really a gloomy day. Mama is purraying very hard for the apartment, but even more for the jobbie she interviewed for last week. You'd think they would say something by Friday, huh. Wonder if that is bad news, then. We hope not. Mama wants to start work as soon as possible so that we can get back to normal.

I will miss Mr. Squirrel when we move. I have known him all my life with mama. But she tells me there are plenty of other squirrels to get to know somewhere else. I can't imagine how I will react at some place new. Kinda scary.

So that's it for Sunday. Just purraying very hard. Worrying too.

Thanks for all of your support!

Love,
brandi

Noos

Mama is shaking. She camed home from looking at that partment and said she will hear by Tuesday if she gets it. She said:

Oh, brandi, it looks out on a side yard and there are plenty of squirrels and trees and birds for you. It has air conditioning in the living room, and blinds so I don't have to worry about curtains for a while. It has a nice dining area, and a huge bathroom and lots of closet space. It is sunny. It has ceiling fans in the dining room and bedroom. The laundry room is down in the basement, and has two washers and dryers. Ohh we will like this place! I hope we get it. And the lady has two kitties! a grey kitty and a black one. And the black one is very very friendly, and I got to give it scritchies.

So, please hope that this goes through. Then we will know where we are going! Please think: give the partment to Carol and brandi! give the partment to Carol and brandi! And then, give Carol a nice job! give Carol a nice job!

Thanks, with much love,
brandi

Friday is Here

Well, here's what I wish: I wish mama gets a nice apartment right away. I wish that movers came and packed us up and moved us ASAP and we were out of here. That would help mama a LOT, and me, too. Do wishes come true?? Mama is totally stresses about moving and packing!
She said help only comes in movies, not real life.

If you volunteered to be my sponsor, now would be a good time to give us the essentials cause mama is going hunting tomorrow.

Interview today

Yup. Mama had an interview today. She thinks she did well, except in one or two areas she didn't have experience in, but made it known that she was trainable in those areas. She said it was a very nice place, with a fountain in the middle of the first floor. She said a big fountain, like running water noise. Kinda out of the downtown area, almost, but oh, well. After she would learn the bussing in that area, it wouldn't be bad.

Before she left here, the owner called her and bugged her. She said, what timing! I'm trying to get ready for my interview and he's being nasty.

We really have to get out of here.

If we go into public housing it would take 2-4 months, and I would need my shots. Eww! I need them anyway, but still, eww!

It is cold today, too. I hear there is a warmup coming. I hope so!

Love, headbumpies, and purrs, and of course, snuggles to my sweetie,

Please help mama

Mama has been sitting talking on the phone most of the day. No one can seem to help us. We have tried and tried. Tomorrow it is supposed to be very cold again, and she has to go downtown to do stuff. She is picking up some more meds, dropping off more forms to get the medical assistance cleared, then going to two agencies who will probably say they can't help us (the answer we have been given by everyone so far). What we need is a sponsor to help us rent an apartment. No one in mama's family is going to help. The agencies so far, and her family, have suggested to get rid of me and live in a shelter. This will not do!

The result so far is mama crying and shaking in her chair, so scared she is making me really worried.

I know this is glum. If we could just get in another apartment and move and stuff, everything would be okay. Then mama could find a job and get hired and we would be better off.

Sorry. I am just so worried. Could anyone be our sponsor? Is there an angel out there who will help? Oh, please? Can mama and I have a happy ending?

love,

brandi

p.s. a sponsor is like a co-signer.

Update

Beans and kitties,

Thank you for the concern. My mama either had to agree to voluntarily leave by the end of the month or we would have been out today. Legally. They are going to condemn our apartment cause of all the problems we have had here. So the owner gave us till the end of the month, instead. So we have to be out by the 28th. We have to clean, pack, find a place, and move, and transfer utilities and change addresses, etc. We are very upset. I don't want to be away from my mama. She doesn't want to be away from me. We HAVE to do something. After the 28th we will be locked out, and the police will be called if we try to get back in. Wow!

I know mama is scared. She didn't sleep well last night. And I had twitchy scary dreams. I slept on mama all night, too.

On a better note, mama had a phone interview today, and applied for one more jobbie today from the paper (on line). This part of life has to go on. We HAVE to get mama a jobbie.

More later, if I have more news.

Love

Very Bad News

Not only have we switched to the new blogger (forced to) we have even more bad news to report.

Mama and I have to leave this apartment by the end of the month. We are being asked to move. This apartment needs a lot of work, and the owner wants us out. We have two weeks to clean, pack and find a new place to live.

That's all I have to report. Mama and I are very very scared.

Still Cold in Minnesota

Yup. That's right. We are still having a bout of frigid weather. But, I have a NEW blankie, and mama got out another one of hers and we doing fine. Did I tell you I gotted my blankie from my boyfriendcat, Mr. Hendrix?? It is pink and red. And warm. I even might share it with mama.

Mama applied for a few new jobbies, and we have been snuggling. That's it. Mama had a nasty headache today, but it's better.

I enjoyed the party last night. Even though I had internet problems and stuff, it was still fun to see effurryone and see my sweetie... *sigh*

Love, headbumpies, purrs,
and *another* smooch for my sweetie,
brandi

and p.s. Yesterday was for Robyn. I didn't forget. I just was so exited about the party, I kinda posted as fast as I could. We appreciate Robyn for all that she has done for us. She is a neat lady and a nice mom and a wonderful friend to everyone.

Friday

No phone call. *sigh*

Today I did something I don't normally do. I let mama scritchy me real gentle for a long time. It felt good. I purred and purred and then I just closed my eyes and just, well, just was. Normally I don't like long scritchies. I might let her do this again sometime.

Today I gotted presents from my sweetie. Another blankie! A plate. A t shirt with Oreo on it. Stuff for my mom. Wow! Is he sweet! I am soooo lucky to have such a wonderful boyfriendcat. When mama gets her jobbie, I have to spoil him back.

I am going to the party now, so see you there.

Love, purrs, headbumpies and a big thank you kiss for my Sugar Pie,
brandi

Thursday update

The interview went okay, mama said. It was a nice place. She carried Robyn's special stone and wore the special scarf she got for Christmas from my sweetie's mama. Now, if they call her tomorrow for a second interview!

We are doing fine here. Mama is spoiling me, and I am keeping her warm. Her levels are still up where she doesn't want them, but I guess it's gonna take a while. She is sleeping better, and we all know how good nappies are.

The weather is still COLD. Right now it is 3 degrees! It drops really fast after the sun goes down. Mr.Squirrel makes quick rounds these days. He keeps running so that he doesn't get too cold.

That's it from us. Cross your fingers for a phone call tomorrow.

Love, headbumpies, purrs, and a special smooch for Sugar Pie,
brandi

oh, see what my sweetie wrote just for me in my comments! He is sooo romantic, *sigh* I can't wait for the party tomorrow night!

News on Tuesday

Well, it was warmer today. I think it got to 5 degrees out. Mama and I hung out and snuggled. And she just didn't get me this afternoon. I sat patiently waiting for food by my bowls. Come on, mom. Stinky Goodness! She merely rattled my crunchies bowl and said I wasn't hungry was I. Hmmmph!

Looks like blogger was doing crazies with my last entry. I think there are three of them. Weird. Sorry. IT strikes again.

We snuggled a lot this afternoon, and she is feeling better. Tomorrow she has to go out to an interview.

We are trying to catch up on blogs we have missed, but there are so many, and it is pretty cold in our computer room. Even for me, and I have furrs.

Hope you all are doing well,
love,

Saying hello

Hi, again. Mama and I are cold. It is below zero here, and has been for days. We don't like this. We are sorry we haven't been blogging, but there are a couple of good reasons. It is very cold in the room our puter is in. And mama is still recouperating from being sick.

This is what happened: mama went for help with the county, and they didn't help her. So she woke up in the middle of the night with a major anxiety attack. She called some beans and they told her to take her levels (she is a diabetic). Her machine thingy wouldn't work. So they called the paramedics for her and she wented to the hospital. Before she left, she made sure I had foodies and water. If you know anything about diabetics, over 500 is a very bad reading.

She stayed for a gazillion naps. Her levels were still bad. But finally they released her, cause she was some better. But they gave her her medicines and stuff, too.

She is very tired, and we haven't been staying on the computer a lot, so we haven't read up on everyone. But she wanted you all to know she appreciates the good wishes.

At least I am getting her to sleep more. She really is tired at night. And the levels are still bad.

Keep warm everyone,
love, brandi

A short hello

My mommy had to go to the hospital. She is home now, but I need to play nursie again. That is why we have not been here.

Very cold here (now -9) and we need to snuggle and I need to help her.

Back when we can.

Love,
